Welcome to Wittyhack.com, in this post we are going to discuss the most trending topic in this digital growing world which is “Internet Of Things” commonly known as IoT.
There are many people unaware of IoT but at the same time, many small and big companies are investing their time and money in this future-ready technology.
If you are curious to know what is IoT and how it works? then you are in right place. Here we are going to explain to you about IoT and how you can use this technology in day today life.
What Is IoT?
IoT stands for the Internet Of Things. If we talk in a simple language then IoT is the system in which different things like an electronic device, animal or people have the ability to communicate without any human interaction.
In this case, we can consider an example of a wearable device like a smartwatch, which has the ability to track your health parameters.
In 1999 Kevin Ashton first time used the term “Internet of things” in a presentation made to Procter & Gamble (P&G).
How IoT Works?
Main working principle of IoT is based on four components:
- Sensor / Device
The sensor is used to collect data from the environment. This cloud be anything such as heart rate sensor in your smartwatch or GPS sensor in your mobile device.
Connectivity is the most important part of IoT. When the sensor collects data from the environment then it gets transfer to the cloud for the further process using a different medium like WIFI, Bluetooth, Ethernet, satellite, etc.
- Data Processing
At this stage due to connectivity cloud received data and now Data Processing come into the picture. This data cloud be simple as the temperature of your microwave oven or complex data like change in weather. Different data processing software process this data and transfer it to the next component which is User Interface.
- User Interface
Function of this component is to create useful information for user in the form of Notification, Alert or Email.
What are the application of IoT?
